Funding, conflicts of interest and data availability

Statements authors give at submission, shown on the published article and sent to Crossref.

Updated Oct 20, 2026 · 1 min read

Authors give three statements when they submit: conflicts of interest (required), funding and data availability (both optional). Editors see them on the manuscript page.

On the published article

When production starts, the statements are copied to the article. Edit them in Production → Declarations shown on the article. Filled-in statements appear on the article page under Declarations; empty ones are not shown.

Funders for Crossref

Under Funders for Crossref, enter one funder per line with the grant number after a semicolon:

Science and Engineering Research Board; CRG/2025/001234
Indian Council of Medical Research

They are sent with the article's DOI, so funders and indexes can link the work to the grant.
