Indexing & DOIs

Found where it matters, from the first issue.

Indexes and search engines look for specific metadata, protocols and page structure. JournalEnv sets all of it up for every journal on day one — no plugins to install, nothing to configure.

Google Scholar

Highwire-style citation tags on every article page, direct PDF links and clean, permanent URLs — the signals Google Scholar’s inclusion guidelines ask for.

Crossref DOIs

Article metadata deposited to Crossref when you publish, with the DOI shown on the article and in citations.

OAI-PMH 2.0

A validated harvesting endpoint with Dublin Core metadata, used by DOAJ, BASE and national indexes.

Sitemaps & structured data

XML sitemaps and schema.org data for the journal, its issues and articles, so search engines understand every page.

ORCID & author metadata

Author names, affiliations and ORCID iDs captured at submission and published with each article.

Policies indexes check

Pages for aims and scope, peer review, open access, ethics and APCs, plus proper corrections and retractions.

An honest note: JournalEnv is indexing-ready, but no platform can promise acceptance by Scopus, DOAJ, UGC-CARE or any other index. Acceptance depends on your journal’s quality and policies — we make sure the technology is never the reason for a delay.

Questions

Does JournalEnv guarantee indexing?

No platform can. Indexes such as Scopus, DOAJ or Web of Science judge the journal itself — its editorial quality, policies and publishing history. JournalEnv makes sure the technical side meets their requirements, so nothing technical holds your application back.

How do DOIs work on JournalEnv?

Your journal joins Crossref (directly or through a sponsor) and enters its credentials in JournalEnv. Each published article is then deposited with its metadata, and the DOI appears on the article page. DOI deposits are included in the Professional plan.

Will Google Scholar find our articles?

Every article page carries the citation tags Google Scholar reads, a downloadable PDF and a clean URL, and the journal has a sitemap. Google Scholar decides for itself when and how it includes a journal, usually within a few weeks of publication.

What is OAI-PMH and why does it matter?

OAI-PMH is the standard protocol indexes and aggregators use to harvest article metadata. Every live JournalEnv journal has a validated OAI-PMH endpoint, which DOAJ, BASE and many national indexes use.
