Open Journal settings → Indexing → Requirements checklist. It is free on every plan.
What it checks
Only facts from your own journal, against requirements indexes publish:
- Journal details — a valid ISSN (format and check digit), publisher, contact email, Editor-in-Chief
- Policies on your site — aims and scope, author guidelines, peer review, ethics, open access and licence, charges, plagiarism, archiving, corrections, privacy
- Editorial board — members listed with affiliations; countries and ORCID iDs for information
- Publishing record — articles in the last 12 months, and issues against the frequency you state
- Article metadata — abstracts, open licences, DOIs and the OAI-PMH feed harvesters read
Each item links to the page where you can fix it.
Listings you can check
With a valid ISSN, click Check DOAJ and Crossref. We ask their public services whether they list your ISSN and show their answer with the time of the check. If a service does not answer, look it up yourself with the link shown.
What it does not do
Each index — DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science and others — makes its own decision, often after an editorial review of your content and peer review. The checklist shows whether your site meets their published requirements; it is not a score and does not predict acceptance. Requirements change, so read each index's current guidelines before you apply.
