Ordering your first journal

Ordering a journal takes a few minutes and three steps. Open Order a journal from your dashboard or from Billing & plans.

Before launch, you can create your account; ordering opens on launch day. See Signing up before launch.

1. Plan & journal

• Plan — every journal starts with the free trial while we set it up. If you choose a paid plan, nothing is charged now: you pay once it’s set up.
• Publisher — your publisher or institution, or a new one. Its team manages all of its journals.
• About the journal — name, abbreviation, ISSN (if you have one), contact email and web address.
• Your contact details — so we can reach you about setting up your journal, plans and support.
• Altechmind may contact me about my trial and plans — optional and unticked unless you tick it; change it any time in your Profile.

Never copy the name, title, ISSN or content of an existing journal. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of what you enter.

2. Billing details

Who we should invoice: legal name, address, state (place of supply) and, if you are GST-registered, your GSTIN. They are saved for your publisher, so later journals reuse them.

3. Review & confirm

Check the summary, read the declaration and terms and tick each statement. Click Email me a confirmation code, then enter the 6-digit code from the email and click Confirm and place order.

We keep a record of what you accepted, with the address the code went to, and email you a copy.

After ordering

The JournalEnv team sets up new journals, usually within one working day. Our checks are technical only (for example, that your email is verified and the journal’s address is valid): we don’t review content, ethics or editorial quality, which are the journal owner’s responsibility. Meanwhile you can start preparing it in preview. Once it’s set up, pay for the plan and connect your domain — the journal goes live.
